55-Year-Old Arrested for Growing 9 Cannabis Plants

in South Australia

A 55-year-old man living in Tungkillo, approx. 1-hour east of Adelaide, is one of the latest to be caught cultivating the highly dangerous marijuana plant.

On April 25th, at about 2pm on a calm and sunny South Australian Saturday afternoon, police attended the property in Tungkillo. And they weren’t planning on showing up with snags and bush chooks.

Instead, they brought their badges, cannabis-uprooting equipment, and a whole lot more of tax-payer funded resources.

It’s not mentioned how the South Australian police came upon the property, but they certainly didn’t leave empty handed. A total of nine cannabis plants were growing – quite mature from the photos, and 32 garbage bags full of dried cannabis. A total street value of around $100,000, according to police estimates.

The man was arrested and charged with trafficking and cultivating a commercial quantity of a controlled drug. Bail was granted and he’ll appear in court on July 1st.

  1. By starting the article with. “THE HIGHLY DANGEROUS MARIJUANA PLANT” the author has shown a complete ignorance of the subject at hand. The dangers of smoking anything is well established. So if we remove that aspect of the plants use we find a plant that has a very very low health risk. I wish highly opinionated peaple that spread misinformation were challenged more often to justify there research.
Also isnt it about time more realistic street values be used as even my old granny knows one MARIJUANA plant does not have a street value of $10000aprox. Anyway the world is heading towards commercialisation of the plant but SA business will be to far behind to capitalise on the trend and chances are the state will loose money to other states and country’s as the demand for legal cannabis products come on line.
