A 55-year-old man living in Tungkillo, approx. 1-hour east of Adelaide, is one of the latest to be caught cultivating the highly dangerous marijuana plant.
On April 25th, at about 2pm on a calm and sunny South Australian Saturday afternoon, police attended the property in Tungkillo. And they weren’t planning on showing up with snags and bush chooks.
Instead, they brought their badges, cannabis-uprooting equipment, and a whole lot more of tax-payer funded resources.
It’s not mentioned how the South Australian police came upon the property, but they certainly didn’t leave empty handed. A total of nine cannabis plants were growing – quite mature from the photos, and 32 garbage bags full of dried cannabis. A total street value of around $100,000, according to police estimates.
The man was arrested and charged with trafficking and cultivating a commercial quantity of a controlled drug. Bail was granted and he’ll appear in court on July 1st.
