Run by a mother and daughter duo, Hemp Gallery started off when Beatrice Kuyumgian-Rankin and her husband, Ray worked together to educate and inform the general public about the value of hemp. As environmentalists, they were looking for a sustainable way to live that was in line with their personal philosophies. They found that hemp could fulfil most all of their basic needs for food, clothing, shelter and fuel – this sparked the inception of their hemp business by selling hemp fabrics from their garage in the late 90s.

As the years went by, more products were added to the Hemp Gallery range. Ray eventually retired in 2017, bringing on their daughter Nicole to take over the helm of the business with her mother Beatrice. Being pioneers of the Australian hemp industry, their vision is to raise awareness of hemp being a profitable, versatile, sustainable and environmentally friendly raw material that can replace more expensive crops, whether that is in terms of financial cost or resources.
