Cymra Life Sciences is a licensed cultivator and manufacturer of medicinal cannabis. The company specialises in developing medical cannabis through tissue culture propagation. 

Using this method, Cymra Life Sciences can grow cannabis seedlings with identical genetics to their parents. This keeps plants free from pests and disease and allows the company to cultivate larger quantities of cannabis. 

Cymra Life Sciences is heavily involved in clinical research and is currently running an observational trial on chronic pain with Applied Cannabis Research and CA Clinics. The company also supplies genetic services to other medical cannabis companies, produces cannabis medicines and works with pharmacies and physicians. 

Cymra Life Sciences was founded in 2017 by current CEO Joel Hardy and current COO Simon Pettinger. The company originally went by ‘Vir Pharma Holdings Pty Ltd’, but changed its name in 2020.
